Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
The Frankenmuth Rotary Club was chartered on April 21, 1939, with 35 charter members. The Vassar Rotary Club was our sponsoring club. The charter President was Arnold C. Nuechterlein, who was our last remaining charter member.
Our meetings are widely known for the enjoyment of good humor, fun and song, while we continue to find ways of serving humanity and our community.
Over the years, the club has provided four district governors: the late Carl A. Satow in 1968-69, Dr. Harold M. (Gus) Braeutigam in 1987-88, Alan H. Knoll in 1997-98, and William Parlberg in 2006-07. The club currently has sponsored 270 Paul Harris Fellows.
